The Comfy Home

Where the comfort of home and quality of daycare meet

Home

The Comfy Home offers nurturing, year round, full time child care to newborn babies and children up to 5 years old.  The Comfy Home is located in Riverwalk subdivision off Pitts School Road in Concord, NC.  Owned by a certified elementary school teacher, The Comfy Home provides individualized attention to meet each child's personal needs.  With 8 years of teaching experience I am knowledgeable about the developmental stages children experience as they grow.  I love to hold tiny newborns, sing to infants, play games with toddlers, and make learning fun for preschoolers.  I am currently full, however I will be happy to add your child's name to my waiting list.

In-Home Childcare

The Comfy Home is an in-home childcare center.  I am fully licensed by the state of North Carolina.  Being licensed means the center is regulated by the state, therefore The Comfy Home meets the same safety requirements as a commercial daycare, only it exists in my home.  This is how the comfort of home and quality of daycare meet.

Benefits of In-Home Childcare

Family Setting: Childcare provided in a home setting helps children feel at ease, relaxed, and comfortable.  Because I will be licensed to keep up to five children, ages newborn to five years, I am able to establish a family setting where parents become friends and families get to know each other.

Germs: When there are fewer children in a daycare setting there are fewer germs.  Children must be fever free for 24 hours after a sickness in order to return to The Comfy Home.  I clean my floors, counter tops, bathrooms, toys, and playroom daily to ensure children always play in a safe, clean environment.  Because The Comfy Home is not a commercial daycare I am able to monitor outside play as I see fit.  I will not take children outside if it is raining, too hot, too cold, too windy, or some other "too" weather condition.

Customized Care: I can tailor your child's care to follow the standards you set at your home.  If your child naps with a pacifier or likes to be rocked to sleep, I can ensure him those same comforts he would find at home.  I put care into deciding which children to accept.  I will never have too many infants at once.  I want to care for all infants as I do my own.  That means tons of holding, cuddling, and talking to your infant.  I do not allow infants to sit in bouncers all day long or cry themselves to sleep.  I do not believe too much love will spoil a child!

Communication: Parents are welcome to call or drop by anytime of the day.  I understand it can be difficult to leave your child, especially with someone new.  Call as often as you like.  One of the benefits of in-home childcare is having the opportunity to talk with your child's caregiver every morning when you drop your child off and every afternoon when you pick your child up.  Each month you will receive a newsletter outlining our planned curriculum and activities for the month.  Every afternoon you will receive information explaining your child's day.  I maintain a private website just for my clients where pictures of our activities are posted.  You will be kept up-to-date on your child's learning and build a photo scrapbook at the same time!
